What is morning and evening Azkar?
One of the important things for Muslims from around the world is morning and evening Azkar. Our prophet told us about the Azkar and morning and evening dua that we must say every day. Also in order to always remember Allah, Allah told us in the holy Quran:
“Believers, remember Allah often and glorify Him morning and evening.”
This is an act of worshiping that not only humans do, but also everything around us from animals and objects. Whereas Allah said in the holy Quran:
“We made the mountains join him in tasbīh at sunset and sunrise; and the birds, too, in flocks. All were turning only unto Him.”
And in this article you will know more What is morning and evening Azkar and when you can tell morning and evening Azkar
What is Azkar? And why do we read Azkar?
Morning and evening Azkar protect us from everything bad that could happen to us and stops us from becoming like the ones that Allah described in the following verse as the headless:
“Remember your Lord within yourself, with humility and in fear, without raising your voice, in the mornings and in the evenings. And do not be one of the heedless.”
The best times to worship god are in the morning, evening, and the last part of the night, that’s what ouur messenger instructed us to do.
Although, reading Azkar after prayer is also good. So, after praying Fajr and ASR you should take some of your time reading dhikr, reciting Quran, and dua. These Azkar protect us from any evil and the devils.
Reading Azkar daily, at the morning, evening and after prayers will make us amongst the ones who remember Allah much.

Other Adkhar to read in the evening
The prophet told us to recite Surah Ikhlas, Falaq, and Nass.
Then recite the following:
- 33 times
- 33 times
- 34 times
- Also, read surah al Kursi so that angels protect you throughout the night and satan will not be able to come near you.
- Recite
So that all your sins be erased and forgiven even if it was more than anyone could count.
- You could also say Bismillah when closing doors, covering utensils, and turning off the light.
- Prophet Mohammad (S.A.W.) said that “when a person enters his bed (to sleep), an angel and a Shaitaan surround him. The Shaitaan whispers ‘your awakening will end in evil’ and the angel says’ end in good”. One sleeps after engaging in dhikr, the angels will protect him throughout the night. In order to gain the protection of the angels, it is wise to engage in Dhikr and then sleep.“
(Hisnul Hasin)
Morning and evening Adhkar benefits
- Allah dhikr will remove your anxiety and worries, it purifies your heart and makes you feel peace of mind. Allah says in the Quran “Rather, the stain has covered their hearts that which they were earning”. Reading Azkar will eliminate that.
- Reading Azkar daily makes us closer to Allah, it’s a way of making a strong connection with Allah.
- Reciting Azkar with a clear mind, and shedding some tears will give you an idea of how the judgment day will be.
- Allah remembers those who remember Him. As mentioned in the Holy quran: “Therefore remember me I will remember you,” (Al-Baqarah). That is more than enough for us, what do we need more than that?
- Azkar protects us from any evil and harm, it keeps us safe. It is similar to wearing a shield to protect you from the world.
- The beloved Prophet advised us to remember and praise Allah all the time because it is the best deed being considered in Islam and possible to do while doing anything.
- Azkar makes us remember Allah always, and be thankful for everything that we have got. It helps us show gratitude to Allah.
- It gives life to the heart. Ibn Taymiyah said, ‘Remembrance is to the heart what water is to fish. What happens to the fish that leaves the water?’
Other benefits of reading Azkar
- Makes us fulfill what Allah wants us to do.
- Allah ordered us to remember him in morning and evening in more than 15 aya of the Quran. Also Allah told the messenger to stay close to the ones who remember Allah during these two times.
- Be thankful for everything Allah gave us, it’s not restricted to humans but also to animals and objects. The Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم said: “The sun does not rise except that all of Allah’s creation glorifies Allah with His praises, except for the devils and the foolish humans.” (Ibn al-Sunnī)
- Appreciate the greatness of Allah, remembering Allah in the morning and night helps us see the beauty of everything Allah created.
Also, Azkar makes us aware of our weakness and need to allah.
- God will bless those who read Azkar day and night.
Other dua and Azkar to read in the morning and evening
We have made (started) the morning (and night) in whose Name nothing in the skies and the earth can harm and He is the All-hearing, the All-knowing.
2- Prophet Mohammad (S.A.W.) said that if a person recites three ayats of Surah Rum and if he misses his normal recitation of the day, he will still be rewarded for it. This applies to the night as well.
“So remember Allah in the evening and the morning. To him is the praise in the Heavens and the Earth and in the last hours and when it is noon. He brings forth the living from the dead and the dead from the living and He revives the earth after it is dead. And even so you shall be brought forth”.
4- According to Abu Huraira, the Prophet Mohammad that whoever reads the beginning of Surah Mo’min and Ayatul-Qursi in the morning, then he will be protected from calamities and ploys till the evening and whoever recites these in the evenings, will be protected from calamities and ploys till the morning.
“Ha. Meem, The sending down of this book is from Allah who is the All-Mighty, the All-Knowing, The Forgiver of sins and the Acceptor of repentance, Severe in retribution, Bountiful there is no ilah but He, Unto Him is our return”.
Allah! There is no ilah (deity worthy of worship) but He The Living, The Eternal One. Neither slumber, nor sleep overtakes Him. To Him belongs whatever is in the Heavens and on the earth. Who is he that can intercede with Him but by His permission? He knows what is before and what is behind them. They encompass nothing of His knowledge which He will. His Throne extends over the Heavens and the Earth, and the preservation of both does not weary Him. He is the Exalted The Immense One.
“O Allah, whatever favors You have bestowed upon me and all other creations is only from you. You are One, You have no partners. Praise and Shukr (thanks) be to You”.
If recited in the night, then recite مَا أمَْسيَ in place of مَا أَصْبَحَ بِي
I am pleased with Allah as my Lord, Islam as my Deen and Muhammad (SAW) as my Nabi.
“He is Allah, there is no ilah but He, He is the knower of the unseen and the witness He is the All-Merciful, the All compassionate. He is Allah, there is no ilah but He. He is the king, the Holy, the Giver of Safety. The Taker-in shelter the All-Mighty, the omnipotent, the All-Sublime. Allah is Pure and Pure of what they associate (with Him). He is Allah, the Creator, the One who is Perfect. To Him belong names Most Excellent. All that is in the heavens and the earth, glorify Him and He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise”.
Ataa bin Abi Rahaa said that Prophet Mohammad has stated that if a person recites Surah Yaseen early in the morning then his need for the day will be fulfilled.
